Ghanadaj Chetry

Ghanadaj Chetry has been making wooden handicrafts for the past 22 years. Around 80% of his pieces are carved from Gomari wood. His wooden rhino is a favourite with visitors to Kaziranga, and he is just as passionate about crafting other animals: elephants, giraffes, birds and more. It is slow, patient work: about ten hours of labour yields only around two crafts a day.
